Stitch Fix #9

Now that I have had Stitch Fix for a while, I feel that I need fewer general things and more specific things! More about this at the end, because it's STITCH FIX TIME!!

First up was what I have been asking for, jeans! These Mavi Skinny Jeans (Sorry... dog got into the cards and they are all chewed up!) had me on the fence for a long time. I tried them on first with the PJ top I already had on because I'm lazy, and ended up keeping them on while I tried everything.

Because they were a four, I initially thought they would not fit, but they must have been a large 4, because I could get them on comfortably. I liked the fit of these jeans! I don't have jeans in a lighter wash (all of mine are darker!), so that is why I was tempted. However, I felt like they just weren't flattering, which is why I normally don't get the lighter wash. I decided to mull it over for a while.

Next up was a RED shirt! I was really excited because I don't own any red shirts...like at all. They are my school colors! Unfortunately, the Cathleen Split-Neck Tulip-Sleeve Blouse by 19 Cooper felt too "boxy" to me. The way it fit around the shoulders, etc just felt too structured in a way that made my arms look thick.

As much as I loved the color, I knew that I wouldn't reach for this top often, so I chose to return it.

Next up was this Hollie Grid Print Blouse by Fun2Fun. When I first saw the pattern I thought I would hate it! But I actually ended up liking it, especially when I rolled up the sleeves, which is more my style. I decided to keep this one!

The last item I tried on was this RD Style Vivianna Open-Draped Knit Cardigan. Just looking at it initially, it looked granny-ish and woolen, and I had to make sure there was no wool in the cardigan before I tried it on. Thinking I wouldn't like it, I tried it on with the Hollie blouse.

I didn't think much of it, and was trying to decide on the jeans, so I left it on for 10-15 minutes. That's when I discovered how warm it was! It was definitely a keeper. I like that the ombre style of the cardigan allows me to wrap it farther around myself if I get cold. I also like that the black and white colors allow it to go with just about anything! I decided to keep it!

I also got these Bay to Baubles Nima Carved Teardrop Chandelier Earrings. However, I got a lot of jewelry for Christmas, so I returned these - I don't need ANY more jewelry, unless it's more of a statement necklace!

I finally decided to return the jeans. I liked them, but I couldn't justify spending $95 on one pair of jeans PLUS the cost of the top and the cardigan. My normal stylist was on vacation, so I'll be happy to get her back!

What I Want/Need Next Time:

I am starting to want/need fewer general items, such as shirts, cardigans, etc. Unless it's truly unique and fits perfectly, I will be returning much more general items.

I need more specific items that my wardrobe may be lacking. Specific items include:

  • Khaki work pants... mine have had a hole in the pocket since the day I bought them that is unrepairable!
  • Jeans!
  • Dress/top for my 3-year anniversary with my boyfriend/Valentine's Day. Something classy but sexy!
  • My brother is getting married at the beginning of March, and I am starting to look for a dress to wear to the wedding!

Thanks Allie! Hope this helps!
