Stitch Fix #12

Gotta love my StitchFix :) I need to make this one brief...so busy with wedding planning and closing on a house!! EEP!

Stitch Fix 12

First up was this Renee C Bali Keyhole Blouse

I LOVED the print, but I just didn't like how sheer it was. I don't like it when you can see the line of the cami through the shirt. I'm trying to be pickier about my selections, especially on tops. The fiancé and I will not have separate closets any more in our new house ;)

Next was this Skies are Blue Esla Split Neck Top.

It was rodeo time here in Houston, so this was perfect! I didn't have any "Rodeo" tanks, so this was a definite keeper! Skies are Blue is usually a hit with me I've noticed :)

Next was this Perla Tab-Sleeve Top by Ellison. It looked so cute, and perfect for rodeo!!

Unfortunately, it fit really weird with jeans :( It was look long for a shirt, but too short for a dress... I thought about saving it for something to wear with leggings when it got colder...but I didn't want to have it just sitting in my closet!

There was also this Chanelle Floral & Lace Infinity Scarf by Octavia. I didn't try it on because I really can't fall in love with any more scarves :)

Finally, I tried on these Level 99 Sara Cargo Zipper Detail Pant. On the card they looked alright, but on....

...but on, they looked weird. My fiancé saw them and immediately said "No. Send them back." They were super comfy, just not my style at all!

Until next time... Mischief Managed

Stitchfix #10... late. Oops!

Ahh!! I realized I forgot to blog my last fix! A few exciting things happened since that fix, so it's understandable.

Fix #10

Allie wasn't styling me for this Fix, so everything was a little off.

First up was this Dylan and Rose Remington Sleeveless Geo Print Elastic Waist Dress.

I did not feel like it was dressy enough for a rehearsal dinner. However, I tried to put it on like you're supposed to... and couldn't get the button open! Mostly because the loop was too small to allow the button to get out, but also because it came like this!

I finally got it on, and knew I was returning it.

Next up was this Collective Conceptions Desmond Back Cut-Out Tab-Sleeve Blouse.

It was perfect for my three-year anniversary with my boyfriend! It had a low neckline perfect for a date, but with a cami underneath, it easily converts to a top appropriate to teach in. It ended up being in some very important pictures the day before valentine's day too... :)

I also tried it on with these Kut From The Kloth Parcey Polka Dot Skinny Jeans!

It was so hard to get a picture though! The jeans were WAY too long, but I kept them anyways because I love polka dots! It will just take a simple alteration :)

Next was this Fun2Fun Torrance Lace Detailed Sleeveless Blouse.

Definitely too "gothic" for my taste!

Finally, I received some Denna Skinny Jeans, also from Kut From The Kloth. They were nearly identical to a pair I already have, so I didn't even bother to try them on!

Mine are on the right!

That about wraps up Fix #10!

Stitch Fix #9

Now that I have had Stitch Fix for a while, I feel that I need fewer general things and more specific things! More about this at the end, because it's STITCH FIX TIME!!

First up was what I have been asking for, jeans! These Mavi Skinny Jeans (Sorry... dog got into the cards and they are all chewed up!) had me on the fence for a long time. I tried them on first with the PJ top I already had on because I'm lazy, and ended up keeping them on while I tried everything.

Because they were a four, I initially thought they would not fit, but they must have been a large 4, because I could get them on comfortably. I liked the fit of these jeans! I don't have jeans in a lighter wash (all of mine are darker!), so that is why I was tempted. However, I felt like they just weren't flattering, which is why I normally don't get the lighter wash. I decided to mull it over for a while.

Next up was a RED shirt! I was really excited because I don't own any red shirts...like at all. They are my school colors! Unfortunately, the Cathleen Split-Neck Tulip-Sleeve Blouse by 19 Cooper felt too "boxy" to me. The way it fit around the shoulders, etc just felt too structured in a way that made my arms look thick.

As much as I loved the color, I knew that I wouldn't reach for this top often, so I chose to return it.

Next up was this Hollie Grid Print Blouse by Fun2Fun. When I first saw the pattern I thought I would hate it! But I actually ended up liking it, especially when I rolled up the sleeves, which is more my style. I decided to keep this one!

The last item I tried on was this RD Style Vivianna Open-Draped Knit Cardigan. Just looking at it initially, it looked granny-ish and woolen, and I had to make sure there was no wool in the cardigan before I tried it on. Thinking I wouldn't like it, I tried it on with the Hollie blouse.

I didn't think much of it, and was trying to decide on the jeans, so I left it on for 10-15 minutes. That's when I discovered how warm it was! It was definitely a keeper. I like that the ombre style of the cardigan allows me to wrap it farther around myself if I get cold. I also like that the black and white colors allow it to go with just about anything! I decided to keep it!

I also got these Bay to Baubles Nima Carved Teardrop Chandelier Earrings. However, I got a lot of jewelry for Christmas, so I returned these - I don't need ANY more jewelry, unless it's more of a statement necklace!

I finally decided to return the jeans. I liked them, but I couldn't justify spending $95 on one pair of jeans PLUS the cost of the top and the cardigan. My normal stylist was on vacation, so I'll be happy to get her back!

What I Want/Need Next Time:

I am starting to want/need fewer general items, such as shirts, cardigans, etc. Unless it's truly unique and fits perfectly, I will be returning much more general items.

I need more specific items that my wardrobe may be lacking. Specific items include:

  • Khaki work pants... mine have had a hole in the pocket since the day I bought them that is unrepairable!
  • Jeans!
  • Dress/top for my 3-year anniversary with my boyfriend/Valentine's Day. Something classy but sexy!
  • My brother is getting married at the beginning of March, and I am starting to look for a dress to wear to the wedding!

Thanks Allie! Hope this helps!
